Since we are approximately halfway through the school year, I would like to review our attendance and tardy procedures. While we are aware that there have been a lot of illnesses this winter, it is important that parents call the absent line when a student is sick. If a student is sick for several days, we would appreciate any medical information that supports the reason for the absences. The District Attendance Policy 3515 states the following:
Truancy is an unexcused absence as determined by the School Principal / designee.
Ten half days of unexcused absence (which is equal to 5 full days of school) during a school year will be considered habitual truancy.
In addition to regular school attendance, it is also important that students arrive to school on time. Students arriving at school after 7:35 must report to the main office, and should have an excuse note signed by a parent or guardian. We appreciate your assistance in maintaining regular attendance in order for your child to be successful in school.
